Family Farm

Doug and Lucy Overstreet founded Idlewild Farm in 2008, the same year they tied the knot.  The farm began as a vision of how to feed a family that had just begun.  Four children and over a decade later, our vision has grown into a small family farm that serves the Bedford - Lynchburg - Roanoke  region with quality pork and poultry products.  

Laying Chickens on Wheels
Custom designed here on the farm to move layers around to new swaths of pasture full of nutritious and fresh foods.

Farrow to Finish Pork
The piglets start and end their lives here on our farm so we are confident in every aspect of their health.

Pasture Raised Broiler Chickens
The chickens raised for meat are kept safe in pasture pens that are moved daily to fresh grass.  Their diet is supplemented with GMO-free grain.
